Careers

Help power Queensland’s future while building a career that matters.
How you can work with us
At Queensland Hydro, we’re building more than infrastructure. We’re building a long planned, multi‑generational investment in our future, bringing together renewable energy reliability and water security in a single, integrated asset.
The work you do here today will help shape Queensland for generations to come.
Work directly with Queensland Hydro
Queensland Hydro advertises and recruits professional, corporate and technical roles to oversee and manage pumped hydro projects.
Whether your role is in environmental approvals, project management, engineering, or in our corporate functions, there are opportunities to join the Queensland Hydro team at our Borumba site or in our Brisbane, Nambour or Imbil support offices.
Work on the Project through our contractors
You can also work on the Borumba Pumped Hydro Project through our principal contractors and subcontractors, who will be delivering the work on the ground, as construction and project activities progress.
Roles may include plant and logistics (heavy vehicle and truck drivers, mobile plant operators), labourers, tradespeople, technicians, environmental services (landscaping, monitoring), and safety and site support (traffic control, catering, security, facilities management).
Queensland Hydro will continue to share information about current contractors, upcoming work packages, and pathways to register your interest.

Building Queensland’s future starts today
Queensland Hydro is currently progressing exploratory works, investigations and planning activities, meaning there are opportunities right now to contribute and build experience as the Project progresses.
With funding approved to continue this work, there is meaningful activity underway for the next 12 months across both Queensland Hydro and our delivery partners.
While future phases remain subject to approval, this is a critical stage where the foundations are being laid and where you can be part of shaping what comes next.
