Queensland Hydro is seeking expressions of interest from passionate members of the Kilcoy, Jimna and surrounding communities to join a focus group. This group aims to capture the insights, opportunities and concerns of local residents, businesses and industries relating to the proposed Borumba Project.
Why establish a Kilcoy, Jimna and surrounds focus group?
Queensland Hydro recognises the proposed Borumba Project may have impacts on Kilcoy, Jimna and surrounding townships. We welcome input from the public because we know that our Borumba Project is ultimately better off when we have involvement from our neighbours and local communities.
We are committed to working with the community to understand what matters most to locals. The establishment of a focus group will allow us to leverage local knowledge and insight as well as create stronger connections on the ground, now and into the future.
About the focus group
To better understand the unique opportunities and concerns of the local community, the Kilcoy, Jimna and Surrounds Focus Group will share their insights on a broad range of topics. Some of these could include:
- recreation and sport
- business and retail
- housing and accommodation
- traffic and transport
- tourism
- social impact and social value
- community development
- local infrastructure, or
- Project impacts including noise and dust.
About our community groups
