No additional landholders affected by the proposed Pioneer-Burdekin project

Queensland Hydro is aware there is concern in the Pioneer Valley community that there may have been an increase to the proposed Pioneer-Burdekin Pumped Hydro Project investigation area following the publishing of an updated project map. Statements have been made online that there are “vastly increased directly impacted areas”. This is not the case.  

To allay this concern, Queensland Hydro can confirm the following:  

• There are no newly affected landholders within the proposed project investigation area. 
• Queensland Hydro seeks to minimise impacts to landholders and their land.      
• The project remains in the initial investigation phase and our work to complete a robust Detailed Analytical Report continues. It will be provided to the Government by the end of 2024.
